Kalkudah and Pasikudah are coastal resort towns located North West of Batticaloa district. In Sinhala, pasi kudah means algae bay and kalkudah means rock bay in Tamil.
Kalkudah and Pasikudah is known to have one of the longest stretches of shallow reef coastline in the world. People walk meters into the sea because the water is only inches deep. You can even go on a glass bottomed boat tour to watch the corals.
The current is relatively weak compared with most beaches in srilanka due to the shielding effect of the reef which makes it a great spot to swim. If you’re not into swimming, this is a great spot to just relax and have a golden tan. Due to its’ really long coastline, Pasikudah and Kalkudah are known for its super fresh seafood and we at rapid Holidays can hook you up with some of the best seafood Platters fresh from the sea served right onto your plate.
